I read a great observation about the use and purpose of propaganda in the old Soviet Union the other day. I'll look for it later because I know I'm not going to do it complete justice with my recollection of it, but it was something like this.

They didn't really expect the people to believe it, that wasn't really the point of it. It was more to demoralize people. They knew people wouldn't believe it but they also knew that people were compelled to repeat the lies publicly in order to not run afoul of the state. What our government and the left is doing to us now with the two tiered justice system, and the Covid lies, and all the rest of the propaganda is being done not because they think people will believe it, but to make people demoralized and angry.

They were at like .001% growth on June 30th and -1.6% on July 1.
