New cuntry that don’t suck thread

The reason that so much new cuntry sucks is it is vapid and soulless. If you want to find the good, authentic cuntry of the past 30 years you gotta look to the alt-cuntry and root revivalists.

For example, Honky Tonk Hiccups of of Neko Case’s fist sold album kicks the shit out of basically and female country track of the part several decades.

Zoe Muth is a local artist with a set of pipes that are as cuntry as it gets. Cuntry Dave a local Seattle picking the telecaster on this cut.

Drive By Truckers outta Muscle Shoals Bamma kick some serious. On of their daddy’s played bass in the Muscle Shoals studio house band.

Great topic Yella...I listen to a good chunk of country music, none of it on terrestrial radio...My contribution to this is Paul Cauthen. Lotta Waylon in there for me...

Another... Ray Wylie Hubbard. First listen for me was without video...backing band is ok (LOL)...his claim to fame is “Up Against the Wall Redneck Mother”...saw him solo in Bainbridge couple of summers ago...

Fuck yeah. This new fish @Fishpo31 has excellent taste.

This video of his reminds me of @Swaye . Real cuntry - like Waylon and Johnny Cash - has songs about coke.

Who’s the drummer? He looks familiar.

The trouble with country radio they only play the popular right now top 40. Find a station that plays classic country and you will get some good stuff - old and new.

Sara Evans for example is not played anymore but is good - she is doing music with her kids now so is more obscure now - this is from 2010

Listen to an alt country band from the late 90s like the Bottle Rockets. Compare this with Jadon Aldean. It’s a god damned joke.

Alt cuntry, ehhh??

Hell, bunch of homeboys sing around these parts. Props for Drive by Truckers, even though they string a electric guitar in there. 👀

Here’s one that ain’t “Jason Aldean” even though he’s not from Newark.🙄.

Frank Foster.

But still:

I know, let’s look for lighter knots, not what’s on the ground already...can’t do nothing but be nonflammable and suck ass.

In other words, easy to hate the top, harder to dig for them
Gems. They there, I get it, and know many that play locally that are not “famous” but some are on top, like the last one I posted. You don’t like that as far as “modern” which I am old school but appreciate some newer, I can’t help ya gimlet ass.

(I had to edit and explain caus @PurpleBaze et al gets confused with my lingo at times, like last night on another thread. I speak a diff language at times, me but I can and will explain)

Meh.

Seems all far fetched and “formulaic” maybe from there that I post. That’s the Way it is here,

Difference in there and here, bunch of screaming, unintelligible shit vs music related to to the region....here may be songs related to sad, beer drinking, love, and ripping mud and rivers.

That “formulaic” is not formulated for an unseen alien force, it’s home. It’s real. Folks down here sing about here. Unlike there. I know, I know, incomprehensible for simpletons. Is what it is.

I keep posting down home music, old and new.....Old Johnny Cash or modern day Jason Aldean, but minus the instruments, all is down home .....sweet tea, beer, mudding, fishing, hunting, dirt roads, loves, name it.

It not British shit(yankeeee) and bunch of incomprehensible screaming(that I’ve seen y’all post, good God). That’s country. Not WA country.

Solid southern country.

Rock and roll different and good, too. Different animal though. Don’t be hating on The same message(country, old or new, folks still sing relevance to here) with slightly different instruments or ya not a fan of music.

@RaceBannon brought up a good point,
REAL country music is Not Real Country music to the next generation.
True. And it’s different. Times change. Messages has all been same though. Sing about here. Past. Present. Don’t matter. Sucks y’all don’t have same wrap around with regional homers. We go same way with football. It’s all relevant. Think about it. 😉
