Never too late for an Apple Cup pre season prediction thread

Some gems:

"The way I see WSU vs. UW right now is that last season the teams were basically even. Slight edge to
UW for the Apple Cup win. ( If Connor hadn't thrown the INT in our last drive, we were going down to take the lead late. That game was very close.)

They had 8 wins, we had 6. If we hadn't pooched the Bowl game, and if UW played our OOC schedule, we'd have had identical records. So even though they had a better record, talent-wise it was pretty even.

We've improved in the off season. UW remains to be seen.

I like our chances."

Taylorcoog in the clutch again too:

"Teams with a great front 7 defense have given Oregon's offense fits. Oregon also has a new Defense and our offense will be in mid-season form by week 4. Although its a long shot, I could see us stealing one in Pullman this year.

Man that would piss Udumb off if we beat Oregon."

Teams are basically even. Game was very close... you know, we were down by 10, going to take the lead on one drive...

We've have the same record with their OOC? Their OOC was Auburn, Southern Utah and Idaho. And the way Auburn played Wazzu...

Also, the age-old argument of "we've improved and no one else has" made an appearance. Good for them.

Teams are basically even. You know, one is 9-4, the other 6-7. That's pretty much the same thing, right?

Not really. we only had 8 wins, they had 6. If they didn't screw the pooch in the prestigous New Mexico Bowl (their bowl wins count, ours do not) and our OOC schedule wasn't so dreck they would have had the same record.

I agree with the last poster. I think Oregons' trip to Pullman could be deadly. Huge trap game. I haven't picked WSU to beat UO in a decade...i feel different now. WSU is solid In the front 7 defensively, especially inside, and will score on everybody.

I worry about our chances there should a north title be on the line (which is possible if the aforementioned happens.) Senior qb's always pose a problem, especially in that system, with those WR's, and defense (WSU has corners,) . DB is a big loss but they have athletes to play safety.

lol, @WSU is not a dangerous game for oregon. Fuck even sark has been more competitive vs oregon than leach has
