Nebraska

People keep acting like it's unacceptable for Nebraska to suck and that any coach in America would want to come there.

Well they were a premiere program for about 50 consecutive years. Maybe even more than that

Before hiring an alum who had a quick G5 stint, they hired Mike Riley coming off a 6-7 win beavlet year.

That job gets zero respect and there's probably a very good reason for that.

And the hiring of Mike RIley was the reason Bill Moos "retired" out of the blue a couple of years later.

So? My point is that they hire like a middle of the road big 12/10 team so obviously no one gives a fuck about "magestic cornfields" and Tom Osbourne and all that.

Bob Devanny built the program and went back to back in 70 and 71. Osborne coached until around 1998 and won two but was pretty much 10-1 every year. Solich got boat raced by Miami in the 2002 BCS

And then darkness fell on Lincoln

But a lot of folks grew up on Nebraska being there every year. Like our 91 DAWGS

+1

Osborne won 3 Natty’s in the 90’s, last one in 1997 with Scott Frost, a transfer from Stanford, as the QB.

Osborne had an 86% winning percentage during his career.

Don't. Try. The. Hire. The. Alum. Trick.

Babushka, so far, one of the exceptions to the rule.

Bo Pelini was a great defensive coach. He was an angry Mfer; an embarrassment to the fan base; and could never get the Huskers back to the next level Husker fans were used to. He was 9-3 his last season; was fired; and didn’t coach their Bowl game.

His antics during games and at press conferences reminded me of Mike Stoops when he was HC at Arizona.

Washington and Nebraska have played 10 games heads up.

Nebraska leads the series, 5-4-1, and has the most recent win in the series.

They were 2-2 during the 90’s, with the Huskies winning their two in the early 90’s and the Huskers winning their two in the late 90’s.

Ex-Oregon AD’s (Bill Byrne and Bill Moos) became ADs at Nebraska. Byrne was involved in the hiring of Frank Solich. Moos was the AD that hired Scott Frost.

I notice you have nothing to say about Haie’s ignorant comments related to the history of Nebraska football, one of the traditional blue bloods in college football.

He’s not aware Nebraska won 3 Natty’s in the 90’s; a total of 5.

Perhaps, if he had some knowledge, he wouldn’t say such stupid shit.

Fuck Off.

I like how national titles in the 90's don't mean anything to quooks if it's UW but for any other team it doesn't matter that they haven't been any good for 12+ years and no one wants to play in that state, they're still a blue blood :D

I wasn’t even making fun of you. Calm down sport.

Miami threw a flea flicker last Saturday. Where was that play/offense when Meat was at Oregon?

It's part of the playbook he had stored away for when he could get a job he actually wanted.

Nebraska won three in the 90’s alone, two of them were unanimous (AP and UPI).

Warshington shares one title.
