That's true if the public mood toward the team turns sour. But they already let everyone know before the season that this team was going to suck. And Seattle fans typically won't demand a winner.
Giving Dipoto and Servais extensions last year was asinine. Dipoto has never had a good farm system and was given a lifeboat by tearing the M’s down last season. He’s made a few good trades, but he sucks.
