The biggest impact that guy could probably have would be if they could figure out how to make him eligible to suit up and play again. Still looks like he could get after it.
Desperation for what exactly? Rubbing elbows with popular former players isn't anything unusual. Twatting about it isn't either. I'm only guessing, but pumping the encounter up as though there was something substantive to it probably isn't unusual either, in desperation or otherwise.

The last time I saw Lawyer, he was the first base coach for his daughter's Redmond High School softball team. They were playing Woodinville in the District playoffs in Everett. Redmond scored the go-ahead run in extra innings, and Lawyer started strutting back-and-forth in front of the Woodinville dugout barking like a Dawg.
