Japan is close second to the Nazis.

Probably followed by the Soviets and then the US (not listed) after that.

The other ones spanned centuries. Alexander, while a stone-cold killer and great military mind, died young and left his conquests to like four people who kind of fucked it up pretty quickly. Julius Caesar went and fucked Cleopatra a few hundred years later ending the Ptomely experiment.

We need Linda Richman.

I think the Nazis take the cake based on the hype from historians and fear they installed relative to their actual military capability.

@CFetters_Nacho_Lover been listening to audio version of Victor Davis Hanson's (TITTT) new WW2 book https://www.amazon.com/Second-World-Wars-Global-Conflict/dp/0465066984

Really enjoying it so far. He focuses more on the how and why the allies won as it relates to technology, strategy, and less on individual battles and stories of the soldiers. I tend to like the technology, industry and grand strategy stuff more.

I think people tend to forget that as good as German infantry and panzers were in WW2, they fucking sucked at @Logistics and force projection and industrial productions. Germany was never a threat to land on the beaches of @ukdawg . The Royal Navy and RAF would have blown them out of the water. Even during the Battle of Britain the Brits were building fighters at way faster pace than Germany. Best Hitler could have hoped for was U Boats sinking enough tonnage to get UK to sue for peace.

Nazis were great at winning quick border battles but were still an army that depending on horses for @Logistics once they got beyond the railheads. They had minimal oil and hardly any trucks. Basically a WW1 infantry force with some very good (but not enough) tanks.
