Pre 2024 draft: Do we have to pigeon hole a black QB as mobile? Can’t they be a pocket passer? Aren’t fans and GM’s being culturally biased?

2024 Draft regarding Penix: He isn’t mobile enough

Pre 2024 draft: Kirk Cousins is just another example of white privilege in QB’s with all of his guaranteed money and franchise tags. Falcons overpaid for a slightly above average QB. He can’t even win the big games.

Falcons draft Penix in the first round: What about Cousin?! Aren’t his feelings hurt?!

I will say when they were cutting between Penix and McCarthy's draft parties the contrast was pretty insane.

Jason Whitlock saw Penix wearing sunglasses in his own living room and didn't like what it conveyed. While I agree its an immature look, I wouldn't call Penix a cocky SOB by any stretch.
 
Whitlock must hate a lot of players then. Especially black ones.
it’s actually advice from agents who think it helps market the player to their target demographic. Makes them appear cool allegedly.

It's possible some of that was coming from teams putting bs out there trying to get him to fall, given how quick he went and reports teams wanted to trade up for him. The media seemed to lock onto the top three guys this cycle (Williams/Daniels/Maye) and I thought that was fair. The insertion of McCarthy into those conversations, which I thought was ridiculous. Again, that could have been from teams trying to bait other teams into trading up or simply taking him.
Penix and even Nix got labelled unsexy even when Penix absolutely should not have been at all.

If I was invited into someone's else home and they were there wearing sunglasses in their living room, I would find it odd.

Not pink eye. This is different. This is far more sinister. It's uveitis. It sucks. My 74 year old father also thought Mike's sunglasses were odd. He just doesn't understand the uveitis struggle despite all my letters. Guaranteed Mike is hurting as we speak, yet he still made it out to the spring game. Legend.
