What we don't know, is the food on a separate check that goes to a different account.
Not uncommon for booze to be paid on a separate check, usually because companies don't expense excessive booze unless the event calls for it.
My point being to the average laymen you look at this and go holy fucking shit! 500 bucks on alcohol. 45 shots of Patron!
That's 3 shots of Patron per person over what is likely a 5 hour night.

I hate wasting more time on SloppySteveFS but you are assuming that each person wanted to have multiple tequila shots when there were likely some women there.
So let's say there were 10 guys and 6 women. If each woman had 1 tequila shot (assuming none went immediately to white wine), then that's 39 shots for 10 dudes....basically 4 shots a per brah on top of whatever other cocktails or beers they had.
FWIW, they were then visibly intoxicated and sloppy when they showed up at the house of the gentleman who hosts Dawg Days In The Desert (about a $5 million house) while all of the other guests there were in blazers / business professional attire. The disrespect and flat out stupidity did not go down well.
IMHO that incident (in March of 2012), then the AC collapse in Pullman, and finally the loss to BSU in the bowl game had some very serious people legitimately calling for Sarkisian to be replaced. They ended up being right but it worked out because HadenFS saved us (ILTST)
at least $5.5 million by never having to fire him (either after coming back in the 2nd half of the 2013 AC at home or at some inevitable future date with more years left on his deal).
Anyway returning to excessive alcohol consumption, what was most galling is that he was too FS to know that there's a time and a place to get shit faced (fucking). The sheer idiocy of doing it before a semi-formal booster event in Palm Springs screams Walking Circus rather than Ground And Pound Husky Football.
