After being asked via text why his show spent 3.5 hours talking about the Seahawks (who didn't have a game over the weekend) and only 15 minutes on the Huskies Apple Cup victory/season, Mitch said that only 1 in 10 people that listen to his show care about the Huskies and that there are many "like Slickhawk" who root for the Ducks and the Seahawks. His sample size (Slickhawk) agreed and said he turns the radio when there is Husky talk.

On a slightly related note, this morning all 3 of them (including Fain) were under the impression that USC would be playing Oregon tonight "if not for Chris Petersen" because USC beat UCLA this year.

Mike Salk openly admits to avoiding college football and often ridicules the entire institution. He mocked the Apple Cup all week (not just the recent history) as something only PNW rubes give a shit about. And Brock sits there like some pussy-whipped dildo during these rants. All this from the guy who wants to spend a three hour show talking about some fuckwad name Michael Saunders who plays a sport as fun to watch as going through a car wash.

Fuck sports radio in this town. Except our very own HuskyFanPodcast of course.
 
I'll bite. I like to hear people talk about UW and shit. The hard truth is that nobody gives a shit about the huskies in this town. I went to the stanford game with a 4-0 team and first real game of the year, afternoon kickoff with good weather and the stadium was about 80% full. That number dropped dramatically throughout the season.

UW is average at best and there are more interesting things to talk about than a stale program. If UW drove ratings do you think Mitch might talk about it? To complain about it is dumb. If UW started winning, his show would talk a lot more about it as the fan interest would increase.

If Salk was dumb enough to keep ignoring it he would start losing ratings if UW was worth a damn. For what it's worth Salk and Brock have been killing it in the ratings and KJR is in the shitter and they are the station that talks about UW at all.

Long live @HeretoBeatmyChest‌ as he is doing god's work keeping that podcast alive. It is better than anything they would spit out on those radio stations anyways.

I think Atomic nailed it. There isn't much interest in a college football team that hasn't been good in 14 years. By good, I mean playing games that matter in November. When that happens, interest will rise and the Huskies will get talked about. Right now, it's basically a niche market.
