Mike Damone is now a free man

I think we? all need to revisit the term "doog", which has been hijacked and misapplied, at times.

Sometimes, the right word is "stupid" but instead we say "doog".

Doog is, from my recollection of the history, a pollyanna-type character who always has the program's back no matter what they? do. Kim and minions are doogs because they're stupid or because they think they have to be to have access or both.

Ok, maybe that is the right term.

I do wish we? could move on from the discussion, though. It's just not interesting anymore. Also, again, two things can be true. One, the program fucked up and didn't try hard enough to keep KDB (I think that all but been established), and two, the current coach is the current coach. It's ok to shit on him when he deserves it but Db has nothing to do with it. That goes both ways in the debate.

Last soapbox comment: let's none of us pretend we haven't supported a guy who turned out to suck. It comes with the territory of being a fan. I once made the case Willingham. I know, right?
Yup. Demanding a playoff appearance or firing the coach by year 3 isnt dooging.

A lot of retarded shit around here lately.

I don't see much dooging here (perhaps with the exception of PGOS) based upon the original definition which I would describe as irrational exuberance regarding the expectations for UW football - including the continuous defense of the indefensible as far as performance on the field is concerned.

I do see a ton of the opposite which I will call unmitigated and somewhat unfounded hatred toward our athletic department and more specifically our head coach.

I understand the origin of this bored and I don't expect (founding) members to sit around with the athletic administration and sing Kumbaya. Nor do I comprehend how continuously bashing all things Fisch (or UW AD) on an arbitrary message board will lead to even the slighted change within the UW athletic department particularly when those with the strongest voices quit contributing, financially, to the UW AD more than 20 years ago.

Excuse me while I head over to Dawgman to convince Derek how to better run this board.

Have a good nite.

I don't see tons of dooging here, but our traffic numbers right now are low based on historical comparison. So any mega-dooging stands out more than it normally would. I used the word "infestation" as a means of jokingly alluding to Race Bannon's use of the term the other day.

I do see some head-scratching opinions being given here, but that's nothing new. Early in my tenure as a message board CEO I learned that the quality of the product that the UW puts out dictates the discussions on the main board here -- unless I engage in heavy-handed censorship, which I intentionally do not. Do I find the blind doogish support of Fisch from some to be tedious? Yes, a bit. Do I find the DeBoer debates to have grown a bit tedious? Yes I do. But unless I see someone just vomit posting all over the board with content that is driving people away, I'm rarely going to intervene.

Your comment independently is fair but you're also one of the posters assuming Demond will make great strides this off-season even though he didn't get better last off season

I get the angst toward Judd. Hell, I refuse to spell his name right until he wins a big game. I think Williams can get better and in turn help the offense get better. The idea that a kid not taking a big enough jump from his true freshman season to his sophomore season condemns him to forever be stuck that way seems harsh. The term sophomore slump is a thing for a reason. If last year was a slump then good things are on the horizon. Lots of damaged folks here having seen the Huards, Price, Locker and Browning all atrophy in their development over the years. I’m right there with you, I’m trying to overcome that. Brunell was much, much better sophomore to senior season. Tui got better junior to senior year. Guys do get better. Not historically at UW per se but they do get better. If Fish can’t get Williams over the hump next year then he’s not the guy. I’m willing to give him 2026 to make my decision. If that’s dooging then I guess I’m that right now. The hate will flow free from me in 10 months if UW isn’t legitimately in contention for the playoffs. It’s all in Judd and Demonds tiny hands.

In regards to Damone. The Soviets would often let people out of the gulags temporarily and back into their real lives as a kind of a humiliation tour. And then they’d rearrest them for basically no reason soon after. The goal being to avoid martyrdom for the prisoner.

Jalen Hurts could barely complete a pass at Alabama and was benched, he had an amazing senior season at Oklahoma. Deshaun Watson got better and better at Clemson until he won a natty as a senior. Baker Mayfield couldn’t win the job at Texas Tech and was a Hiesman winner at Oklahoma. Joe Burrow couldn’t win the job at Ohio State, was pretty mid as a junior at LSU and then had the best season in college football history. The idea that players can’t get better is a Washington phenomenon. It happens all the time around the country. Also, I’m glad Damone is out of solitary.

And there are way more examples of guys who didn’t improve or got worse the more they played.

So I should keep my #freedamone website up for a few months then

I mean if you're going to allow SECDawg for the 17th time after he threatened violence, then it's only fair. Damone is already causing problems, but I advocated for you, buddy.

In the spirit of the fact he and I were friends for years before his psychotic breakdown, and influenced by the fact that we have a doog infestation currently at Hardcore Husky, I have commuted the sentence of Mr. Michael Damone. He might choose to ignore it and continue on with ScratchGolfer, or tell me to fuck off and accuse me again of trying to dox him, but that's a choice for him to make. As far as I'm concerned, it's a new year and that's water under the bridge. Let's please give him a warm Hardcore Husky welcome.

The facts of the "psychotic breakdown" are disputed.

You're right on that one thing, and it's interesting that I forgot all about SECDawg threatening to fly up to Seattle with two of his buddies and beat the shit out of me. But still, I love me some SECDawg
