I'd think you have to look at the reality of the situation. Will Oregon pay more for a coach than an SEC school? The simple answer is no.
Why would Gus leave? He's already beaten Oregon for a national championship as a coordinator, he made one in his very first year as the front man and he's looking good for a second shot in year two.
The only real names out there that have had success running Oregon's system are Rich Rodriguez, Urban Meyer, Dan Mullen (just starting to at a shit school), Chip Kelly, Brian Kelly, and Gus Mahlzahn.
Urban isn't leaving the midwest, Mullen will replace Muschamp at the end of the season, Chip will probably never come back to college, No one is leaving Notre Dame for Oregon willingly, Gus wouldn't leave his home region for a lateral move, and Rich Rod would probably be hesitant to jump so quick after the Michigan debacle.
Oregon has a bean counter for an AD and the assistants on the staff have really deep roots to the program which is both good and bad. Slingbade will get two more seasons. The one positive is he is recruiting well on paper, which means nothing if you're a shit coach, but it does leave a replacement something to work with.
