NORCO, Calif. (KNX) — Students at several Inland Empire schools have been protesting a statewide indoor mask mandate for the last week, with some refusing to wear masks all together.
Hundreds of students at Norco Intermediate School, Bonita High School in La Verne, and Chino Hills High School have foregone indoor classes since last Friday because they’ve refused to wear masks in class.
Students defying the mandate have been directed to sit outside to complete schoolwork, parents told The Riverside Press Enterprise.
Norco Intermediate School and Highland Elementary School were sites of the largest protest, according to Corona-Norco Unified School District officials. In a statement released Tuesday, district officials said about 200 students were participating.
