No way, for a couple reasons.

They’re addicted to the power. No one willingly gives that up.

The states are out of money and need hostages for ransom. They will only let the hostages go once the federal checks clear and they get policy changes in return and get to blame the bad economy on Trump.

Quite obviously, Covid 19 reduces heart attacks, kidney failure, liver failure, respiratory failure from causes other than covid, accidents, and virtually every other form of mortality there is. Why would anyone want to stop it?
 
Has anyone noticed that the Covid 19 "death rate" has dropped below 2%? Considering the number of affected people who don't know they have or had it, and that the CDC has, from the beginning, not distinguished between those who died WITH COVID and those who died OF COVID, do we all realize that COVID itself has actually killed maybe 25 to 30,000 people, at best?

Oh I suspected it when I heard the west coast got its ass handed to it last fall with a new mysterious and way too early flu season. There’s no scenario that China could be in a suppressed outbreak and the west coast wasn’t the most exposed.
