Without Foster the 2010 team is a 3-4 win team. He made a huge difference. The 2011 defense, if I recall, only lost Foster, Aieywa and maybe 1-2 other guys. It was horrendously worse. Foster masked how bad the defense was. He made every tackle practically.

Agree. For a large chunk of the season, he was the only reliable player on defense.
