Mark Redman, 2020 4* TE, Newport Beach (Corona Del Mar), CA (Committed)

Doesn't matter how good Redman is, DBs will blanket him.

Defenses will promise him the end zone but it will be on the practice field. Covered in rocks

Angulo report from Poly Bowel:

I like how Washington signee Mark Redman consistently finds ways to get open up the seam. Big target.

"For me it was Mark Redman, tight end from Southern California, heading to Washington," Huffman said in a video with fellow 247Sports analysts Blair Angulo and Greg Biggins when they were talking about the top performers of the day. "At times he's overlooked by other people because two of his teammates (Ethan Garbers to Washington and John Humphreys to Stanford) also headed to the Pac-12, but today I thought Mark Redman had one of the best days after (Arizona State-bound) LV Bunkley-Shelton of all pass-catchers. Had a great rep against Justin Flowe, who was our Alpha yesterday. Was basically held the entire rep, pulled the ball in, got the first down. We've seen the last couple of days Mark Redman really make the case to be a 4-star on 247. He's a composite 4, but he's really cementing himself as one of the best tight ends in the country in this class."

He's one of the best TEs in the country so we'll think about maybe giving him a 4th star

I’ve mentioned it before, but the positional distribution of 4* players is an absurd indictment of how 247 assesses talent.

They have 11 TE’s rated 4* or 5*, and 60 WR’s rated 4* or 5*

WR Star chinflation is an underrated aspect of TBSing.

I think 11 four star TEs may be justifiable.
60 WRs, heeeeeellllll naw.

I liked Bunkley-Shelton a lot. He’s a good football player. There were some really good West Coast WR’s this year.

Redman should be able to be TE #2 next year. Culp and Westover aren’t beating him out. Westover can be an H-back and a FB when we use one.

All 3 days at the Poly Bowel practices so far have been dominated by LV. He’s easily been the best WR and has just burned everyone. I really liked him as a slot WR but I can’t complain about the 3 freaks we? have.

I can’t either, but it seemed like we could have gotten him if we really wanted to so it would be frustrating if he’s a baller at ASU. Tough decisions are part of the job and when you don’t have your pick of the elites, it’s imperative you pick the right guys.
