A 17-year-old Corvallis High School football player pleaded not guilty Wednesday to felony rape charges in Benton County Circuit Court.

Marco I. Brewer is facing multiple Measure 11 crimes, according to an indictment filed July 28. In Oregon, a person who is 15 to 17 years old and who is charged with a Measure 11 crime must be tried and sentenced as an adult.

The indictment charges Brewer with first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse.

The charging document alleges that on May 14 of this year, Brewer engaged in sexual intercourse with a person who was incapable of consent by reason of mental incapacitation or physical helplessness.

Also, the athletic director at Corvallis High is a solid member of society, LIFPO all the way:

Corvallis High School Athletic Director Bob Holt called the situation “very unfortunate.”

“It’s a shame,” Holt said. “It’s sad."

Holt said it is too early in the criminal case for the school to decide if Brewer will play on the football team this fall.

“Until it all plays out, it would be very difficult for me or the school to make a decision as to what is going to happen,” Holt said
