He should have been coach of year twice. Instead he's seen as scapegoat of year by delusional dawgfans like yourself.

Ok, man-coverage VS pat Johnson was silly but Lambo was edver aggressive on defense. But with Greenlaw and mighty mouse on the back-end he had to be. Take chances or get picked apart and lose every game. I commend him...

T he alternative was Sark's defense under Holt. That worked out great (see EWU as an example of zone defense with shit talent)

What makes a good head coach?

Solid in game decisions.
Instill toughness and discipline in your team.
Recruit well.
Play your best players.

You might add one or two things but I think that's the gist.

Lambo's in game decisions were suspect #HuardsWantsToThrow
His teams were TUFF but discipline is questionable (i.e. Lester Towns pickup hoops, Olin Kreutz v the world, CW's arrest records etc)
Recruiting was more good than bad but he shut down the Hawaii pipeline and lost a lot of big in state talent (Lake Dawson, Carlos Pierre Antoine, Huard III, etc)
Play your best players - see Puppy's poast.

Lambo wasn't all bad but he was really good at fucking up when it mattered most, and by the time he was fired he had completely lost the team. He should have been fired after 97, at the latest.
