Budda Baker continues to improve and had a solid game (9 tackles, 7 solo), that kid will be a stud

It's worth noting that Van Winkle, Durkee and Vizcaino have done well in the absence of Coons, Coons and Coons.

Van Winkle is 9/10 with a long of 51 and his only miss was at Cal. Durkee hasn't been perfect, but he effectively removed Montgomery from the punting game against Stanford. And Vizcaino can hit the endzone on KO which we haven't seen since Coons Folk Ballman Perkins Braunstein Knudson Anderson.

Buttah is really going to be fun to watch. He flies to the ball carrier a ton, he is so fucking fast when he diagnoses the play. Going to be a GREAT free safety.

reminds me of earl thomas

When he diagnoses the play and goes after the ball carrier and you see him fly through, I agree, he reminds me of Thomas in those situations because his speed and willingness to hit is uncommon. Sky is the limit for Buttah.

Exactly. There was a play on saturday, I don't remember if it was a RB or the slot receiver but the Oregon ball carrier was going around the OL, he had all the linebackers beat, but Buttah flew there and stopped him before he could get significant yardage.

The good news: Budda made 9 tackles.

The bad news: Many of these were running plays, and he is a safety.

well Kevin King missed about as many tackles as Budda made... so at least Budda is cleaning up the mess

Pretty sure that the kicks made the endzone against Oregon because Van Sickle was the one doing the kicking. He's the man. The ball jumps off his foot like it did off of Anderson's...high and with power. I'm not sure what Vizcaino's role is going to be moving forward, unless he has some potential as a punter.

Other positive outcomes for individuals against Oregon: Kikaha added another sack and a half or two, and I'm pretty sure Shelton had one as well or at least a couple of half sacks.

Playing on a team with limited no prospects for meaningful, team achievement = time for individual achievement.

I think Oregon recruited him as a slot receiver so he's a big time talent on both sides of the ball. He was all Duck until Sark left. Smart kid!

He chose UW over Oregon. If he's a smart kid, he doesn't care about winning.

Budda was meant to be a duck. Not surprising he was the only guy who didn't suck ass on your side, except for your sprightly backup QB. Ducks played like ducks on Saturday, no matter what team they were on.

Yes, clearly.
