Was never on doogman v.1 so don't really care.
Look at DeBoer's circle jerk last week on their conference call. Dude wanted to buttslam with the other coaches in the SEC.
Cignetti doesn't care where he wins as long as it's B1G/SEC. He would have taken the Purdue job.
There is an obvious difference between the two.
 
Jedd is hilariously getting paid like he hasn't done much.
If he takes UW back to the playoffs and our recruiting is great, with all the private equity and everything going he's getting over 10 mil in Seattle.
UW offering DeBoer Petersen's money seems like more stupidity than anything, the "loser program" aspect of it would be if they didn't want to piss Petersen off and equated the 3 NY6 appearances with DeBoer's 1 win.

DeBoer won the...Alamo Bowl and popped off.
Avoid the fuck up to one of ASU or UCLA and he is in the playoffs year one.
He was getting paid a decent amount for one season after coaching at Fresneck.
UW should have offered more initially in 2023, butt still he had to win some big games after that to get in instead of undefeated FSU.
I think Bama had been on his radar forever and the Sexton hire in October cemented the back room dealings of DeBoer the Tide heir apparent.

I’m ready for IU vs Bama in the semifinals, I’ll take #myHoosiers. Even if UW gives DeBoner a post year 1 bump, he still goes to Alabama.

Saban was playing 4D chess with the farce OC interview after season one. That’s when he and Sexton set everything in motion. UW could have given him the bag but he had his reasons to leave besides money. Even his daughter playing for UW and living away from the family was enough to keep him at Washington. The offense was gutted even if he stayed and after year three he’s not the hot commodity.
He probably took into account a new conference in a transitional year.
 
Imagine if UW payed him 12 mil after the Oregon game then the next week he loses 14-7 against ASU because Powell doesn't get a goalie pick six. Or he loses to Oregon State because he refuses to run the ball. Or they lose to Ute or Coug which all easily could have happened. Just saying hindsight is 2023
