He's from Eugene, his parents still live in Eugene, and that built the nicest facility on the planet before asking him and he wasn't interested. Washington has zero chance.

Mark Few has set the tone for smart coaching. One thing matters in college basketball and that's it: tournaments. If you're the one good school in a dreck conference then you'll always be in the NCAA tourney. Kids don't give a fuck how nice your building is, they want to be in March Madness every year. Oregon and Washington aren't going to be a yearly participant ever.

Once you're a yearly figure in the NCAA tourney you get to choose whichever preseason tourney you are in which are huge hype machines that the kids love. Remember when Adam Morrison became a household name in Maui? Me too. Remember when Oregon or Washington had a player become a household name against Kentucky Baptist at home in front of one camera that isn't even plugged in?

Being the lone gorilla in your conference means you win your conference tourney every year too which instantly boosts your NCAA seeding.

Oh and Mark Few is a zillionaire from coaching at Gonzaga too. If he's leaving it will be to follow Brad Stevens to the NBA. Only a retard would leave his situation to go to another college.
