He's not getting anymore scratch from WSU ... He wants to get back to where he can have some success. It ain't happening in Pullman ...

Getting fired without a job would be an even bigger step back. He might be getting out of dodge before it becomes readily apparent to his clueless employers that his system has failed and recruiting is collapsing.

 
Of course Leach has interest in leaving Pullman. If he doesn't improve the next two years, he's door.ass.out. 3-9 or 4-8 and he's probably gone after next year.
