I need a new string trimmer. I want a lithium battery system that I can use with other tools, as I replace other corded and gas-powered shit.

Thoughts on brands with good reps for a broad range of tools using an interchangeable Li battery system?

All my stuff in that category is Ryobi. Not because it’s necessarily good but because I had a Ryobi cordless drill and someone told me to get the lithium battery.

After that it made sense to stick with Ryobi. It also helps Ryobi has tools across a broad spectrum of uses for those batteries. I use the same 18v battery for drills, circular saw, jigsaw, leaf blower and string trimmer. The 40v runs my mower for my postage stamp yard and chainsaw for when I get wood.

Ryobi might not have the best tools but they’re good enough for what I do.
