Talented Mr. Ripley. Another great one. PSH was money in that as Freddie Miles. Gold, Jerry. Gold.
That movie and Gangs of New York are on my list of getting fucked up and rewatching.

Season 2 of the Night Manager is very good. Season 1 was top notch
Loki is good and so is the arm candy
It will never happen at this point because the true dominant content now is TikTok microconent drek and it's only going to get worse but with movies and TV to me i really think they should just do less stuff and make it big. Same with movies just cut the comic book shit. One problem they have is that because the paychecks are getting smaller and everyone is terrified it will be their last and they need to get to the next one everything is just churning out shit no one cares about as fast as they can. There's some funny stuff on social media recently about movies no one even realized came out with huge stars in them the past year. You nailed it. I remember that too.
Again, anyone that wants to recreate that vibe has to go straight to a theater budget.
Netflix churns out shit that's the equivalent of a hand job compared to that IP.
Hollywood, even though that concept is outdated and California is about to chase the last of the industry out of state, is run off of fear - what if we lose money? I know, this was popular in the 80's lets do a reboot a sequel and a prequel!
Originality is gone. I'm watching the same shit I have already watched only not as well done
I recently started screaming LLOYD! sometimes. Not everyone gets it.Dude, screaming from his office Shut The Fuck Up Lloyd, just randomly in a scene that doesn't even need it![]()
Kind of similar to Daniel Craig. His first movie I even remember him in he was the sniveling evil son in Road to Perdition. Looked like that's the type of character he should play forever. Then Layer Cake, then Casino Royale. You don't look at him the same anymore.Wow, I am not a comic movie fan, so don’t know much about Loki, but just now realized he’s the same guy as the Night Manager and Life of chuck.
Thanks @haie
I remember being bored to tears watching that movie as a kid until Salma Hayek showed up as a stripper (Leykis laugh).
Regarding the ending, I think it’s easy to have an amazing idea for a show and somewhat easy to capture people’s attention. The true difficulty is wrapping up the story in a way that does it all justice.
Yeah, the ending is the weakest part of the show and that tends to be a thing with my favorite shows. As a very accomplished creative writer myself, I can attest, endings are the hardest fucking thing. Setting up a good story and flowing through it is so much easier than wrapping it up. It's exceptionally impressive when a show or movie can pull it off. Add The Sopranos as another controversial ending, everyone hated the end seasons of Game of Thrones.Finished True Detective last night. Ending was a little weak and felt rushed. Otherwise, an incredible 8 hours of viewing.

As an example, I’ve watched the Office end to end 3 times. The final episode is so goddamn clunky that it’s almost unwatchable.
Stallone’s 2 big franchises were obviously Rocky and First Blood/Rambo. I think he did a good job wrapping up those franchises with Creed 2 and Rambo Last Blood.
I bet you areStill plowing through my Entourage.
