Last Movie Seen

Better Off Dead. Hadn’t really sat down and watched it since the mid 80s. Great flick. Glad to see the actors at some Comic-Con a few mo this ago being there to relive it.

Scarface. Wasn’t as good as i remember and kind of campy now.
Scarface definitely has some campy moments. I still chuckle that old man Nacho rented the VHS from the local store and the whole family watched that movie. I was maybe 10.

Match Point. Decent Woody Allen movie and isn’t like a typical Woody Allen movie. Prime ScarJo. Probably the best she has ever looked

Cool World. Way too much animation and all over the place action. Great soundtrack for the time. I remember winning the cassette of the soundtrack on a bus sponsored by KNDD 107.7 to go see Twin Peaks Fest back in ‘92. No boobs but sexy cartoon version of Kim Basinger

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Hadn’t seen it in 20+ years and only remembered people getting minds erased. Forgot the order the film was shot in. Not as good as i remember. No boobs.

Adam Carolla said years ago how horrible Eternal Sunshine was. Based solely on that, to this day I have never seen it.

Diddy doc. Regardless of the entertaining weird shit he was an interesting story I didn't really know much about. I like that it's now culturally okay to call out how ridiculous it was that his music was basically replaying hit songs. It did include this gem of a photo for the Death Row Dawgs:

One Battle After Another. Well shot and looked good at a time when movies look more and more janky and shitball or all CGI. Kind of the slog I expected and pretty laughable if it's not satire.

One of my problems with this and Sinners is terrible character names. I remember reading the Wikipedia summary and wondering if I would even watch because the character names were so dumb. Then you have Sinners with Smoke and Stack and Preacherboy and Cornbread and they seems like names a high school kid would come up with.

Want to see Is This Thing On but now it's locked into a date night situation only because I opened my mouth about it.

No interest in The Bone Temple. I was into one new 28 Days movie, there isn't enough there to make me want to watch two more.

Finally saw the last mission impossible and my main regret is that Cruise didn't just fall and die doing the plane stunt so that they couldn't finish the movie. Easily the worst villain ever and the worst casting ever. That guy should never act in another movie ever again he was so bad. It was just a terrible fucking movie in general.

Anemone:

I really liked this movie and I'm glad that Daniel Day Lewis came back to do it. His character is great. It's a downer kind of story but at least it presents itself as a mystery that doesn't waste your time with the small moments between the two brothers.

I think I started this at midnight or so the other night and kept going for the full 2 hour duration, along with Warfare and Train Dreams it's worthy of beat picture consideration for last year.

The 5 minute story of his taking a dump on his pastor's face didn't need to be 5 minutes, that was my only complaint. We get it, you're shitting on a dude, it's not as funny as you think it is though.

Vanilla Sky
Had never seen it and it was on so I watched it. Ambiguous ending and such which makes you think. It was prime Cameron Diaz. Unsure what Tom Cruise's character saw in Penelope Cruz. Penelope Cruz boobs.

Diaz might be the weirdest nude scene career in history. She refused to do one in her prime then did one really late in that Sex Tape or something movie with Jason Segal. Don't know what you got till it's gone.

Frankenstein on Netflix. I liked the gore of it but seemed kind of long and drawn out. Unsure how close it is to the Frankenstein story.

Watched Train Dreams last night.

None of the loggers in the movie seemed like tough Democrats.
Yeah, those guys were supposed to be painted as nothing but racists or guys too scare to point out racists.

It's why Warfare would win best picture over this film.

I might have to piss off my wife and see Is This Thing On this weekend or this week. Nothing else looks good and I've put in my time into the fucking Traitors this season anyways.

Is This Thing On. Would recommend, but more of a romcom in the style of Silver Linings Playbook.

Bradley Cooper's character was 50/50 really funny/trying way too hard.
