Dirty Harry 1971. A cultural shift and another end of the 60's touchstone. It is also heavily borrowed from in later hits like the jumper scene in Lethal Weapon and the pay phone tag game in Die Hard 3 I believe

They pulled it off because Harry hated the cops too. And America was ready to see some tough on crime Nixon got elected on it
The opening shoot out scene in downtown SF would not happen today. That's the scene that ends in do you feel lucky?

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice - Entertaining. Not a horrible follow up, but not as good as the original either.
Midway (2019) - Much more entertaining than I thought. Decent action. Only issue I had was Netflix didn't have the japanese subtitles on, so I'd have to pause, turn on subtitles, then turn them off. Me no likey read movies.
 
Watched Cannonball Run 2 last night. Cheesy but funny.

The OG is unavailable anywhere on streaming. I’ve been looking for it for about 3-4 years and might just cave and buy a Blu-ray or dvd.

If you like people discussing religion in a creepy format this is for you. Kind of disappointed in that it was an A24 film. Didn’t live up to my expectations.
 
Mostly been watching Christmas movies with the kids lately. Grinch, Elf, Christmas Vacation. Also watched the GOAT Christmas movie, Die Hard, with the wife.
 
Watched The Eagle has Landed yesterday. 1976 flick (ILTCMFIWILTD) with Michael Caine, Donald Sutherland, Robert Duvall and others. Older movies tend to be cheesy to the point it ruins the movie but I thought this was pretty damn good.

so i thought i check out the Boys which I had ignored for years
Season 1 was funny and subtle. 2 through 4 not so much but I got through them
The politics are obvious but that in itself isn't a deal breaker if well done

I couldn't handle his accent. I watched that as a kid, but couldn't do it when I tried again later.

The Order.
At around 2am when the the movie finally finished and I was ready to pass out from the last 48 hours of being Santa, they mentioned in the prologue that the fictional book this Spokane white supremacy group followed was used in the "January 6th Insurrection".
It pissed me off to the point of getting no sleep. I'm literally tired of this shit being in every piece of art I consume.
 
Recently watched The Thomase Crowne Affair (OG version), Cannonball Run and Cannonball Run 2.

Cannonball Run is unavailable on streaming for years now so I invested in the DVD (don’t know if it’s on Blu-ray either).
