I thought that for a second, but what does he know about media contracts etc? It seems like the Pac needs someone who really understands where sports media is headed with a specific vision for raising the league's prestige and keeping great coaches and players in the footprint.

You do realize that was the world Larry Scott came from. Fuck that. You need someone that understands how college football works, and your strengths and weaknesses as a conference. Give me a good manager of people with a strong bs detector and you can outsource or hire lesser people to be the experts on media.

I was thinking more like a guy who worked in the SEC who really understood big money sports/TV and would put football first.

The SEC actually celebrates their teams. In my life the Pac-12 has had incredible players and teams, still puts a ton of guys in the NFL. You wouldn't know if you flipped through pac-12 network, and the league in general doesn't promote those things.

Remember when everybody laughed at BYU for a solid week for bitching out of a game only to then watch UW bitch out of two games?

And remember when everybody laughed at Oregon for like 10 straight days and printed and sold T-shirts to rub it in, only to immediately get cucked and watch Oregon win the conference, print T-shirts, and wipe their dicks across our faces?

And remember when everybody laughed at Texas for a whole week for being dumb enough to hire Sark, piled on Sark and Texas really hard in at least 81 different threads here, only for Sark to text "U up?" to UW's best assistant, watch him bail, an then read hint after hint that the program is collapsing from within?

If there's one thing the last four games and change have taught me, it's that I'm not saying a fucking thing about Larry Scott right now. Not one fucking thing...
 
I don’t know too much about the man, but what I do know leads me to believe I know who the perfect candidate to replace Larry Scott should be.

✅ Experienced with TV deals.
✅ Understands the concept of sports as entertainment.
✅ Experience with bankrupt football leagues.
✅ Knows how to rig the outcome for maximum profit.
✅ Will allow steroid use, helping even the playing field with the SEC’s recruiting advantage.
✅ Stance on violence towards referees: pro.
✅ Involved with the Special Olympics, so he understands what the Pac-12 can offer.
✅ Knows how to pander to drunk hicks, an important skill in the world of college football.

As a bonus, I can already picture him presenting Clay Helton with a championship trophy.

I like this idea, I like it a lot. But hire his daughter who is probably bristling that she hasn't been handed the reigns yet. And, well, she'd probably get along pretty well with Jen Cohen...
