I think it will be Elko at Duke. The Jimbo buyout paired with Lannings buyout and his salary might be too much for even aTm to swallow. Elko is an aTm guy and will come cheaper than a big really name coach.

I don't think they want the Jimbo assistant to replace Jimbo himself.
 
Don't think this makes any sense. He wants to not going to the Big 10 which will now be Ryan Day, James Franklin, a neutered Michigan and his west coast rivals which is a team that offers $5,000 401ks against their NIL deals and one with the worst culture I've ever seen in college football. I assume Phil and Oregon can match any A&M money. Chip left because he got kicked out of college football for writing a university check to a bag man and Mario left for his dream job.

The move for Lanning is to try and keep winning at Oregon and aim for the Alabama job to replace Saban.

I hear that Dabo is the shoo-in replacement for Saban. Everybody says so.

I'm far from impartial but I assume it's the recruiting and portal glitter not rooted in substance

He hasn't done anything yet

On the other hand UW has no choice but to give DeBoer the 100 million

Hopefully it's after he does something this year because while he can beat his rivals and ranked teams we'd really like to see a championship

Imagine paying $76M for Fisher's buyout with the intent of going cheap on his replacement
