Kwat inspired flashbacks watching that game

What a surreal game to watch. I felt like I was watching UW-Stanford from 5 years or so ago, except with the script flipped.

Kwat comes out with a solid gameplan to limit a good offense to 13 first half points. Dropping everyone into coverage and getting decent push with 3-4 lineman, LB blitzes here and there. Good stuff.

Problem is, his supporting cast offense delivers a whopping 3[/b] points against a suspect defense.

Second half, the offense finally wakes up and starts moving the ball. Problem is, the other team now wants to burn as much clock as possible, starts running and taking checkdowns, and Pete K suddenly can't get off the fucking field.

Texas would be better off with Kwat at the helm, and some superstar G5 offensive coordinator handling the offense.

Lather, rinse, repeat for our man Kawasaki

I wanted to beat him a lot more than Sark. Love that our coaches can check their egos, drop the gameplan, whatever is needed to close out a game.

But...he rarely suffocates anyone and he always seems to get out-adjusted in the second half. UW could have continually marched down the field on him late but went into button down mode.

His defense also showed one of it's biggest weakness again. If those two huge run pluggers in the middle can't get it done against the run, they can't stop it. A dedicated rushing attack with a workhorse RB and UWs line might have piled up 300 yards on them.

Luciano is a plus athlete who at times could get rag dolled by big DTs and Biani is experienced and decent but Kalepo is the better pro prospect. I’m hoping Hatchett takes over center, Kalepo at LG and either Curne, Mele or Gaard at RG. That’s a good front line and decent interior depth. I’m worried about tackle depth. Huff has taken a lot of tall, rangy developmental prospects the last few years. Not sure any have actually taken a step forward.

I was definitely down on Huff after last year but it turned out to be guilt by association with JonDon. I like his OL haul this year and Elishah Jackett should at least be in the two deeps as a RS-Frosh at OT. Super long arms and athletic. We'll see if he brings his LUNCH PAIL.

He’s a good looking prospect for sure. I’m more worried about next years depth and the position moving forward in general.
