Kind of painful to read about Locker

I still think the Taylor Martinez impersonation was one of the funnier moments in HHB podcast (obligatory 'huh?') history.

Locker's problem is not having mental toughness and not being a consistently accurate passer. When you consider those are probably the most important traits to playing QB, it is obvious why Locker is not very good. It is amazing someone actually picked him 8th in the draft.

"If the Wonderlic tested for mental toughness and competitive fire, Locker would have likely went undrafted."

Does this mean he also wouldn't have made a good safety?

This means Kim would rather saw off his left arm than to publicly acknowledge that I was right after all and he shouldn't have booted me off his message board for saying it.

Doesn't change the fact that I dislike seeing Jake talked about like that.

I like to rip guys for their mental abilities while typing sentences like this:

The Titans commitment to Locker has certainly cost them their fare share of losses, but the security the young quarterback once experienced may be near its end.

I do that.

Based on his writing, the guy who wrote that would likely get a single digit Wonderlic score.

I would completely disagree about competitive fire though......the guy plays extremely hard and wants to win

Agree with this. Dumb and non-competitive are two different things. Kid put his body on the line for the team way too many times for me to believe he isn't competitive.

One of the few positives about Lockner is his competitive fire. He's not a QB worthy of playing in the NFL, but that's despite his desire to win rather than because of it.

Agree 100%. Jake lacks some of the elements necessary to be a good QB at the NFL level but competitive fire isn't one of them...

I don't know about that. Nobody ever feared Jake with the ball in his hands needing a score to win.

Yeah, if he would have just wanted it then his passes would have been accurate.

Right.

Competitive fire does not necessarily make one clutch. Clutch actually requires skill as well.

Tell iDawg I said hi!

The fuck is an iDawg?

Lots of players raise their level late. Jake didn't care. He was always going to get paid regardless.

Absolutely, he played hard. But the losses didn't eat away at Jake for days and weeks afterward. It was always "that's too bad" rather than "that's unacceptable". There's the difference between him and someone like Tui.
