Someone pointed out Bob Knight ... Knight's an asshole but he's got his players best interests at heart at the end of the day. Probably the biggest problem he ran into is that the times changed and his message became dated.

I have no doubt that Petersen has the ability to be an ass when needed. I just feel that he knows when to use it.

In contrast, Sark is too busy being butthurt about not having his players Facebook friend him.

Everyone outside of Seattle and USC thinks Carroll is a scumbag. He is most definitely an asshole, remember him running that fake punt in Buffalo up 500 points (which was awesome btw)? Really? There is a big difference in thinking someone is a douchebag and not a good person. I haven't heard stories of players who hate Harbaugh's guts. Sure Baldwin and Sherman have both been outspoken they aren't a fan of him, they are the type of personalities though that don't work with Jim's blue collared approach. This is also what makes PC a fantastic coach, he is able to take those type of players and make them extremely productive by letting them be themselves.

I guess it boils down to semantics and what qualifies someone as "not a good person", which is opinion I suppose. To me, a bad person is someone who pushes people in wheelchairs down flights of stairs and rapes people in parking lots. Not someone who is stubborn and comes off as a douchebag. Listening to Harbaugh's post game interviews (where he sounds like he just came off a treadmill and doesn't know how to speak in public) I rarely (if ever) hear him throw players under the bus, if anything he supports his players (especially Kaep even when he sucks).

I had a discussion with one of my roomates who is a 49ers fan the other day. SF fans hate Carroll and Seattle fans hate Harbaugh. You switch the hats and 49ers fans hate Harbaugh and Seattle fans hate Carroll for the exact same reasons. It is just a homer mindset that most have which they can't overcome.
