Kill me now

Another great recruiting class though

As for our DAWGS - Ohio State and Oregon were a mountain too high to climb but Indiana stands atop the B1G like a colossus

They mentioned on the broadcast that Indiana was a top portal winner as they prepped to curb stomp Oregon

No excuses, no bullshit, just get to work and win

Of course you can't expect UW to compete with a blue blood like Indiana. We'll just keep pretending that maybe Fisch is possibly the guy and lets waste more years hoping he isn't who we know he is

I bet Indiana reached out to Cuban. Maybe even a reach around. Whatever it takes. Anyone home Chun?

What I've read from various sources is that Cigaretti reached out to Cuban. Cuban has been donating to Indiana on the academic side for a very long time. Cigaretti made the case that donations to the athletic department would also be worthwhile and he explained what he had planned. Cuban was impressed and stroked a check. It is a bit mind blowing that Indiana hadn't done something like that a long time ago, but as we? like to say, the head coach makes a difference. In this case, a huge difference.

if only we had one of the worlds richest billionaires who is a legacy. You guys and all your Gates conspiracy theories can’t see the evil in plain sight !!

How many games has Lanning coached at Oregon where he was actually the underdog going into the game?
Last night, the first game at Georgia, maybe the DeBoer game at UW. Can't remember on the Pedo State game.

He's James Franklin until he's not

I said before this season that Oregon would never win the natty as long as Tosh was DC.

Down the stretch, I think Stein was a bigger liability.

Regardless, we weren't going to win that game. But cmon. Fuck.

Playoff plunger U, indeed.
Appreciate you sticking around after a tough one like that and you were right that Oregon had one of the best teams in the country but couldn't get past Indiana. To win it all in college football seems like you have to be supremely talented, have an excellent coach, and have an identity/team of destiny thing going. Indiana was the only team with all that this year. Sometimes you can get away with not having much of one but you better be generational in others - thinking 2024 Ohio State and 2019 LSU with just superior talent. Ironically, I think 2010 Auburn is the only champ I can almost ever think about who lacked in all those categories, but I guess Cam was able to push them through.

I don't know about blaming Stein. When I watched Oregon their offense really only did much against non-terrible defenses when they were running their dialed up plays and once it came down to jimmies and joes they didn't do much. Their RT might be the biggest shitty douche to ever walk the earth.

Not sure about Tosh either. Oregon's defense had been lights out all year. College offenses being broken probably had a lot to do with that, but how much Indiana eviscerated that D is really impressive.

Both Ohio State games last year. (Won one)
Penn State this year.(won)
Indiana last night (lost)
UW in Seattle 2023 (lost)
UGA in 2022
Another game or 2 in 2022.

He's accomplished more than Franklin, but I agree these playoff blowouts are going to loom until he exorcises the demon

That's what is so annoying about Oregon. One guy (Phil Knight) has made so many Oregon fans flap their gums as to how great they are. If PK can't buy them a National Championship now, as other schools are catching up to the whole NIL / House Settlement game, will her ever be able to? And will they ever develop their own QB in this new era or will they keep buying guys out of the portal?

Despite all the ridiculousness of of the past few days with DW, I do appreciate that he has developed on Montlake and will be here at least 3 seasons. Buying a portal QB every year would feel somewhat empty.

As Wolly said, appreciate you sticking around.

I can't remember, was Oregon the underdog in the Pac-12 championship game in 2023?

Dumb question, but is there anything preventing multiple year deals as an option with these new rules? Or is it just that they haven’t been done yet?

In all fairness seems somewhere between Franklin and an elite coach. I guess credit for signing him, but Franklin really did very very very little when he didn't have SaQuon Barkley, who is a Barry Sanders-level college RB athlete. Lanning is also 2-0 against Franklin. I think the Oregon job is easier than Penn State though.

Not a dumb question at all and I believe some players coming out of high school have signed two year deals (IIRC, Adam Mohammed being one which is why he had to stay).

How do we find our Cuban? I just heard he spent seven figures on a suite for the national championship game.

Twitter guy says UW generally does two-year contracts out of high school, which would make sense why Demond was negotiating one now and Mohammed could leave this year. Still difficult because it just means you're getting held hostage by the players two years in is all. Based on what was revealed in the Demond saga, that his contract was basically a boilerplate Big 10 contract, is that you're going to see the governing bodies have more standards I hope and I'd love to see something where base salaries are one thing and then you can earn more with incentives - all conference tiers get higher payments, that way players also have to play well and play in general to earn bigger payments.
