KG on Joyner's recruitment

Kim refuses to take Sark's cock out of his mouth, defending him to the end. There was another post taking a look at the attrition under Sark and of course the Steve Defense Force aka KG is quick to defend his idol. Good times over at doogman.

Here's his main arguments:
-Ty burned UW to the ground which is why the 2012 class was terrible
-Sark and Pete struck out on the same amount of in-state recruits (Banner, Garnett, Russell, Williams, Browne, Jack, Rector etc vs Eason) cause of math
-It's not Sark's fault he struck out on those other guys cause they never wanted to go to UW but CP missed on Eason cause his process sucks and he doesn't know what he's doing. Kim needs to school him on how to recruit in the Pac 12.

I love Pete and I think his recruiting is very good and only going to get better, but I do think he flubbed it a bit with Eason. I love Eason and it's sad to me that he's the kind of weirdo that would commit to GA because that's an idiotic move for many reasons.

All that said, I think Pete probably should've offered a bit earlier... but it's not really that big a deal.

At this level, having Skinny vs. Fink is really not a huge difference in my book. The talent is there with both of them and it's just who develops into what that will tell the tale.

Also, supposedly Taylor Rapp and Isaiah Gilchrist are going to commit any day now.

But a good coach takes their time to evaluate, not just be first to offer. We've seen too many qbs burn out by not having proper Evals for the next level. Eason very well could be great, but I'm happy with Pete taking his time and making sure kids are in the boat. He obviously recruits differently than most, and he makes sure a kid is all in for him and uw.

If Eason wants to go elsewhere, good for him. There are tons of great qbs on the board. It still ayers most how you develop, not just stars from kem and company

Eason played for Lake Stevens right? Wesco is a shitty conference. Anyone could dominate that league. Washington State QBs that are rated high usually seem to not pan out or have an inconsistency at least.

Browning could suck too.... But he was Petes guy from the start. It's going to be hard to convince 2 top 10 QBs to sign in the same class.

Most high school QB's end up being busts. I don't think Washington QB's are any different from other states. Only one QB plays and often guys at that position are multi year starters.

Flubbed it because we need another qb in this class? Eason is better? Local is better? What specifically makes you believe Peterman flubbed Eason's recruiting?

Saying Petersen blew it with Joyner, after Joyner signed with UW is one of the dumbest things Kent has ever said.

Didn't he also say Baker would have flipped to UW from Oregon regardless of who was coach?

That to me is pretty FS ... even my dead grandma knows Peterman flipped him with substance.

after Eklund said no way he decommits...after Eklund said no way he commits to oregon.

The Baker recruitment was basically DM.c self parody.

If Kim thinks CP fucked up AJ's recruitment and we STILL got him, how would he describe Sark's recruitment of Josh Garnett or Myles Jack?

There's no such thing as a fence anymore. With internet and social media kids aren't afraid to leave home for school these days. This is happening everywhere, there's nothing Sark can do about it. California kids are better than Washington kids anyway.

Garnett ruled out UW as have others specifically because Sark was coach at UW and there is no spinning that.

Now ...
Jacob Eason commits to Georgia = Peterson screws up
Austin Joyner decommits from UW, commits to WSU, ends up re-committing and signing with UW = Peterson screws up/UW lucks out when Leach fires a couple coaches

Then ...
Josh Garnett = UW's chances are as good as anybody's (November)/Garnett was always signing with Stanford. Nothing anyone could've done (January).
Zack Banner = In the end, kid's from a close-knit family and UW's gonna be tough to beat (November)/Zack wanted to create his own legacy. Regardless, Sark has addressed the situation by firing assistant coach who led Banner's recruitment.
KeiVarae Russell = UW sitting in good shape (November)/Well, his mom doesn't like the University of Washington (The university itself? WTF does that even mean).
Myles Jack = commits early to UCLA despite previously envisioning himself playing for the Huskies=bad kid with grade issues (summer)=Hey, never mind about the grades woes or questionable character. Sark has done a great job and it looks like a 50/50 call between UW-UCLA a week before signing day (January).
Max Browne = ??? but certainly no blame on Sarkisian for screwing up.
Danny Mattingly = Kid loves defensive coaches and UW is right there (November)/Bad egg. Best that UW goes in another direction (January).
Scott Crichton = Don't call this an evaluation error by UW's coaches. You can't be wrong if you sign the player (in this case, Josh Shirley) with more stars. If you can't understand that much, Ken can't help you.

Not enough academis and idiot, but still, ybe

I think Jake Eason was open to Washington and I think that Pete waited to go through his process on him and for whatever reason that allowed a crack in the relationship that Mark Richt exploited.

I really like Pete and I'm a fan of his system, but some of these poasts are completely moronic.

Eason looks fantastic on film and has offers from everyone in the country. He's also in our back yard. Losing him stings a little bit, definitely. Why should I say otherwise?

Our chances of pulling one of the top-5 QBs (or any other position) in America are only high when they're in our backyard. That's why local recruiting is so important.

If you don't realize that the vast majority of our big recruiting wins come from the state of Washington then you should go fellate SincereDawgFS.

That is all true about Eason and local recruiting... But I want to say this now about Isaac "Does He Even Play in Games for Bellevue, Because I watched Them Play Three Times Last Year And He Did Nothing" Garcia before anyone else....

We didn't want Isaac Garcia anyways.

I absolutely wanted Eason, and it is a loss on the recruiting front. Luckily it looks like we are going to get Matt Fink, so that helps a bit. But still a loss.

Eason had offers from Alabama, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Georgia, Miami, and FSU before UW offered. I don't buy into the theory that you have to be first to offer, but many of those are elite schools and UW was pretty late to the game. I'm just speculating, but I can see how that might bother Eason and his parents.

I get wanting to see Eason throw at the Husky camp, but it's not hard to get to Lake Stevens or a 7-7 camp and watch him throw. With a player that close, the homework could have been done before the camp.

Eason is a top 5 player on 24/7. Losing that caliber of player is generally a bad thing. I would love to see what he could do under Petersen. Eason has every physical tool you could want in a pro-style QB.

Kim has stated several times that Sark losing Heaps and Brown were no big deal because they were self-obsessed prima donna's. Eason, however, according to Kim, is a totally genuine kid who is completely grounded. This is interesting since it seems he has a camp/entourage who follows him everywhere and he felt slighted by a coach wanting to see him throw before offering him.
