Black music and hillbilly music have intersected far more than some realize. Jimmie Rodgers was heavily influenced by black blues musicians and same with Hank Williams. Elvis too but he was soon considered no longer to be hillbilly music. Louis Armstrong even played on some of Jimmie Rodgers last recordings.
