As has been pointed out, the media and the Rat party have pretty much ignored what's been going on at the border until they could frame it and talk about it in the context of racists on horseback treating the illegals poorly. They now want to "investigate" the border patrol but the people who are actually breaking the law, the illegals, they have no interest in.

It’s actually very forgivable to not be able to discern one from another. A cutting rein looks like it could be a whip to the untrained eye.

It’s the job of journalists and the media at large to do their fucking homework and delineate between the two, and then report fairly and honestly about the events and the context within which they occurred.

But that doesn’t sell as much advertising space to corporations and their Chinese market overlords as telling their viewership that our border patrol is whipping helpless immigrants on our southern “border”.

Conflict sells, baby. And this shit gets Afghanistan/inflation/covid lockdowns out of a news cycle that’s been dominated by a missing white girl and her V-log boyfriend for the past two weeks.
 
Horses are great for crowd control. They are a big opposing animal and one has be to a serious dick to attack a horse. Win - win.

Having commanded mounted units they are a thing of beauty to watch while working. They can move rather large crowds easily. Watching someone flee on foot and be pursued by a mounted rider and have the horse deftly knock them ass over teakettle is truly special! Not sure how they teach the horse that one and I've owned horses.
 
Next time maybe the Border patrol just pulls out their guns and shoots the people breaking the law. The left was perfectly fine doing that on Jan. 6th.
 
Horses are probably the most effective way to navigate the terrain down there, unless we propose to get BP units on 4 wheelers to chase down illegals, but I’m not sure the optics behind that are any better. You wouldn’t have reins being mistaken by idiots as whips, so that’s a plus…

But then of course we are trying to be eco-friendly, and fuel prices being what they are, maybe maybe horse maintenance is less than 4 wheeler maintenance, although having grown up around horses, I seriously doubt that’s the case.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that, in the absence of a wall, securing our southern border is hard, especially when your interests lay with the opposite outcome.
