With all of the government waste, it’s obvious we are already paying too much in taxes. Let’s start with getting rid of paying teams of geologists to hike all day and calling it work.

If OT isn’t taxable , there is no revenue.
Elon will make it up by cutting expenses.

The main problem with overtime taxes is that a worker is pushing themselves into a higher tax bracket while working more typically into make ends meet.
It flies in the face of the supposed 40 hour work week that is generally accepted in the USA. If you work more than those hours, it should all be profit IMO. Anything over 40 should be between the company and its employees without the bloated federal government taking a cut. Treat it as a untaxable bonus to make it more worthwhile for the workers.

The problem with this exchange is Throbber views revenue as money Elon takes into Tesla, while Ern, as a government employee, views tax payments as “revenue.”
Two different things and indicative of how Makers (Throbber) view tax confiscation compared to Takers (Ern) view it as income.

There hasn't been a true 40 hour workweek since about 1990.
You still get it back at the end of the year... but yes at the moment of payout OT is taxed higher.
