Kaho's dad still pushing him to BAMA

I'm guessing Pete's philosophy is it's better to cut bait with the cancer and move on than have it leach off you negatively, but still this is pretty ridiculous.

The media is partially to blame for taking his dad's comments at face value without following up. Did anyone call Tracy Ford and ask about his conditioning while he was here? Did he really lose 20 pounds out of depression?

It painted the picture that he was homesick and grief stricken and needed to delay enrollment because football was the furthest thing from his mind. Pete is the bad guy if he doesn't let him go under those circumstances.

Was the dad really calling UW parents for money because of the divorce? It doesn't pass the smell test at all. He would have been better off saying he made a mistake signing the NLI and doesn't know what he wants to do and take a year off before enrolling.

dealing with the pnw media has to be so fucking easy for an athlete. shit, ty got the times to run the 'victory and ruins' special.

if jude had any balls, and i know you read this website adam, he'd at least call the kid out for playing the 'closer to home' bullshit rather than the passive aggressive paragraph on tosh in that piece.
 
Couple of points:
1) Really doesn't matter if he got paid or not. Some schools are going to do it but Petersen never will. Expecting other schools to recruit like a boy scout is wasted effort.
2) Doesn't sound like the kid completed the class. Expecting UW/UCLA to lessen academic requirements is also wasted effort.
Plus what kind of a dumbass kid can't pass an English class.
3) Can't blame the kid for wanting to please a parent. Might work for us with Bandes and his mother.
4) Petersen absolutely did the right thing. I agree with Dawg206 when he said denying the release would have got us shredded with negative recruiting. Petersen being phony, etc. If anything it solidifies his reputation as in it for doing the right thing for kids. Short term hit, long term benefit.

It's official. It's hard to get too excited for verbals knowing they can change their minds, but once they sign NLI, it's never been a worry. Now it's going to be hard to get too excited until they enroll. This is a joke.

Fuck him. He couldn't train because he hadn't completed HS yet. Kid might be bad-ass, but he and his family are a fucking train wreck.

Follow up and prove it. Call Saban for comment, call the parents again, call the parents that were allegedly solicited by Kaho's dad. Ask Kaho why he decided to go to alabama after citing needing to be home with family as the reason to request a release from UW.

Make them say it to your face, don't let 'em off the hook!

He gets as much of the blame as his family. You don't think Pete and the staff knew of the "problems" and offered all the resources they could to make him comfortable and stay? If he actually wanted to be here he would have said fuck you to his shitty "family situation" and not fuck you to WASHINGTON.

No one should feel sorry for him. it took him ONE FUCKING DAY from the time his release was granted to join a new team when football was "the last thing on his mind" and needed to be with his family... not to mention the new place is THREE FUCKING TIMES AS FAR AWAY!!

Read between the lines: He's going to Bama to win a NC, because he doesn't believe he's capable of leading UW to a NC, despite being ranked in the top 5 with a top 55 QB. If the kid lacks that much faith in his own ability to contribute and make the team better, then WDWHA. It's like A-Rod joining the Yankees and getting upstaged by Jeter for the rest of his career. Fuck guys like that.
