Justin Dentmon trying to keep NBA dream alive

Apparently he had a hell of a Summer League:

Synergy Sports Technology released it's latest evaluation on players' NBA Summer League performances, and, according to their research, the most efficient player wasn't No. 1 overall pick Karl-Anthony Towns. It wasn't D'Angelo Russell, nor Jahlil Okafor. In fact, the most efficient player at NBA Summer League wasn't even drafted this year.
According to Synergy Sports Technology, it was NBA D-League veteran Justin Dentmon (not including Oleksiy Pecherov, who played in just a single game).

I dominate in beer league softball, but that doesn't mean I can hit a major league fastball or even a change up.

His previous limited NBA experience highlights that.

If he can snag a 10-day contract or 2 in season it's worth it. There was an interesting article about the decision to go over seas and make six figs to a mil with endorsements vs making 30kish in the nbadl and praying for a 10 day contract.

IIRC, some guy with no business making the league got a 10 day because of injuries and proximity to new York. One day he was making like 20k for the year, the next he made 60ish for ten days.

It's a hard choice to make and probably worth a documentary.

I hope it works out for him, but he's in a rough position. Teams that suck have no use for him. Teams that are good and need a 3rd PG and/or 11th-13th man will sign Jason Terry or Pablo Prigioni before Dentmon. Then you think of guys who are on the fringe of the league like Nate Robinson, Jordan Farmar, Shannon Brown, etc. There are a lot of players out there that are probably better than JD.
