The thing with Nick Cage is he uses his role to elvate the movies. When he's in a good movie, he uses his role to make the movie better. When he's in a shitty movie, he uses his role to make the movie even shittier, often times making it more hilarious.

Look at the bee scene above. He knew the movie was shit. He didn't give a fuck. He acted as poorly as he could to make it hilarious. Same for almost all the other shit movies he's been in.

That's the thing about Cage. He's a great actor in that he makes good movies better and fucking awful movies watchable by being as bad as he can.
