Link that says UW twitter and message boards have bashed JTT the least and that will be the deciding factor over going to tOSU where he will lose 4 games in 4 years tops, go to at least two CFP's, a Rose Bowl and NY6, along with winning 3 Big 10 titles.

The Troy Franklin interview where he talked about Oregon and how he could see them winning a NC, and UW where it was safe, comfortable, etc (what someone says about their favorite slippers) for me speaks volumes about where the program is at.

It's the same program who's leaders (Cowen and Lake) would not even go out and fight to get the CCG game day changed, the conference to bend on the number of players needed, make them Co-Champs with SC, etc. None of that would have worked of course, but you make them say no. The downside for that plan of attack is zero, and upside by some miracle is more than zero. It was a no lose opportunity. And we punted.

1) Changing the day of the game by 1 or 2 days wasn't changing anything

2) Number of players wasn't relevant because we didn't have numbers at a vital position to play the game

3) The conference as a whole made a FS decision PRIOR to the season starting ... time to bitch about that was long gone at that point

As you noted, none of that would have worked, but in your mind it's best to spend the political capital to go kicking and screaming about things that wouldn't have had movement and things we couldn't have executed anyway.

The downside to that plan of attack is significant when you're using political capital and getting no return on it. You only have so much political capital to use at any point in time. We had no play and we stepped out of the way in a Nebraska classy standpoint. And yes, that sucks for a number of reasons. But it doesn't change what the reality was.

I think JTT to Oregon is a long shot.

The same thing was said about Thibodeaux and Alabama. Or Justin Flowe and Clemson. You never know in recruiting.

How is JTT so different that it’s crazy? If anything, on paper he sounds as he would be the likeliest to go to Oregon out of those.

This is not about how great oregon is. This is about what a waste every other program on the west coast is. Oregon actually tries. Sometimes they pull off this type of stuff.

Usc is stupid. Uw has no self awareness and thinks they are doing great. If he wants to stay on the west coast he should go to Oregon. Hard to admit for some doogs. He really should go to tOSU though. College would be more fun there.

I was wondering that. Dude was kinda chubbs and awkward in HS. Looked at the pic and zero resemblance. Good for him, Coaching at a college that truly values winning.
 
Good thing we've saved all that political capital for when it really matters. Like playing a conference championship game against USC with a chance for a Fiesta Bowl instead of the Ducks. If that ever happens we will be ready.
