What a privilege it was for him to lose to UW in front of his hometown friends and family. Special day, man.
 
He was great though. Handled Trice and ZTF most all afternoon and they gashed the Huskies when they ran to his side. To say I wouldn’t want him at UW would be sour grapes. He’s really, really good. That said, his family was talking a lot of shit and strutting around my section in the fourth quarter. Sit down and shut the fuck up. 0-2

Yeah, I wanted him at UW but he would have been behind Troy F. and Roger Rosengarten. Maybe he would have started a LG this year at UW and then moved to LT in 2024.

A great scenario would be Lanning deciding to go back to the South and Conerly then portaling to UW for some NIL coffee cups so that he would be our starting LT in 2024 before heading to the NFL.

Troy is a phenomenal athlete but he projects as a guard in the NFL. The idea of replacing Troy at LT with Connerly and Hatchett with Troy would make the line unstoppable. Man for man might be the best line in all of college football.

Yeah, he has long arms for his height but probably can't get away with his lack of length at LT in the NFL.

Can’t hate the family living off Uncle Phil though. Personally I never boo the kids, but I was hoping for a fall camp collision between Taki and him and a trip to Oregon Health Sciences for ACL rebuilding

Duck fan in my section going full troll with a Conerly jersey so nervous he was sitting down and staring at the ground the entire game. Fuck that guy.
 
I just feel sad for the Connerly family. My father is a Rainier Beach alum. You sold your kid to Nike for a bag? It would be more understandable if Washington was inferior like back in the Chip Kelly days. Weak sauce

I try to be an adult and understand the recruits who didn't want to jump in with the Jimmy Era or coming right out of it. I'm not always the best at that. Walked by the entire family in their Oregon gear after the lost and had to gloat a little bit knowing how much more fun it would be to be partying in your fucking hometown after that game instead of going back to Eugene as a loser Merc.

I get the bag to but fuck man even if it's the highest which was speculated, after middle man fees and taxes that shit ain't gonna last long and it's all really about getting to the league.

Never noticed him during the game and watching highlights all I saw was him getting beat bad by Trice on the Eddy sack and holding Trice after he got beat twice on big Oregon plays and getting away with it. Almost all their runs were up the middle.
 
@WoolleyDoog [groan] ugh Jimmy Lake. Yeah I kinda feel that one.Though I heard he got along well with Huff. He's been serviceable but he's not going to make people forget about Sewell anytime soon.

I get that his dad played for Oregon, but Molden choosing UW over them was a huge deal at the time and I don't remember his parents acting like that down there.

Honestly didn't his dad played there and can concede that does change things a bit. They made Conerly and Taki captains, right? Fuck off losers. Hopefully all the instaters and their families who are drawn to that program had fun. Pay your taxes on those modest bags.
 
I enjoy seeing him loose but I do not blame anyone for not signing with Jimmy Lake. I feel bad for kids like Conerly who had to miss out on what is happening right now but there was zero reason to believe in the program when he signed.

It's really kind of unreal that we are sitting where we are after Jimmy whiffed on so many key recruits.
