I love how ESPN said “unexpectedly died”…at least they skipped “tragically”…85 freaking years old! If I get to 85 (bet the under heavily), the only unexpected part will be waking up…he lived a good, successful life, RIP

It sounds like Madden didn’t have the academically prowess to maintain a couch in Eugene. Don Coryell, the former assistant to our? John McKay. The non HoF coach who rode the arm of our? Dan Fouts?

I think he actually wanted to play baseball, and the Oregon baseball coach told him he was too fat. I’m being serious. Madden also said that watching film with Norm Van Brocklin made him decide to be a coach. I won’t claim him for Oregon, but I reserve future rights to claim Richie Incognito if he gets into the HoF.
