Lambright hates Oregon bc they cost him his job and perhaps two Rose Bowls. Yeah 94 probation but if UW beats Oregon they probably end up being conference champ. 1995 Oregon was one of the worst husky losses ever. Cost us a Rose Bowl. 97 loss was pretty shitty too.

1997 we were 24 point favorites as Oregon season was going in the toilet for the second straight year.
As for 1995, that was the worst Lambright loss. Cost him a Rose Bowl, UW didn't come ready to play trailing 22-0 at halftime, then blowing two gimme FG's to blow the game.

Nothing before or since was that bad. ASU may hold that distinction for all time...
97 was a bad loss. I remember it was Tui's first start. Shehee was injured as well. I still couldn't believe we lost that game. I remember either Mel Miller or Jermaine Smith getting burned for a TD near the end of the game. I hated Lambo. The guy was a terrible coach. The more I think of it, I actually think Sark might be slightly better.

Let's not go crazy now. Lambo was a bum but I'd still take him over Sark.
Now you are correct on that 1997 game which was a mirror image of 1995. Come out to a slow start trail 24-6. Then Tui has a great comeback even gives UW the lead 28-24 then Mel Miller our best corner but a head case is burned for the final TD on I believe a 3rd and long.
I do remember on that drive they converted a 3rd and 20 something possibly even the game winning TD.
The first half pissed me off because Huard was suited up and ready to go yet Lambo started the true frosh. Tui played well in the 2nd half but still.

Lambo sucked. Anyone switching to a spread passing attack where two of your wideouts are a tight end should be fired. That 95 team probably is a 1 loss team (@ohio st) with a good coach. The 96 team got their ass kicked in the bowl game and sucked against good teams. Don't get me started on the 97 team. That is all.

That 1995 team wasn't that good but the conference as a whole was down. He personally blew the Notre Dame game, the Oregon game and the USC tie.
In 1996 he had a good regular season going 9-2 but in the bowl game had a 14-0 lead then offense didn't score again.
As for 1997? Well sent 13 guys to the NFL only to go 8-4 with home losses to WSU and Oregon. I was really surprised he survived that.
Then in 1998 we couldn't run the ball, got constantly blow up on defense and were fortunate to be 6-6 as UW had two lucky wins(ASU and Oregon State). He had more than worn out his welcome when he was fired.
I really don't understand the revisionist history that says firing Lambo was a mistake. No it wasn't at all.

Championship coaches- DJ, Chip, Harbaugh, Carroll
Good coaches- Riley, Pinkel, Belotti, Bruce Snyder, Tedford
Everyone Else-
Complete Disasters-
Anyone who is a complete disaster gets fired after 2-3 years. So if someone isnt good or a complete disaster then they are in that everyone else category like Sark and Lambo.

I'm going to disagree on your good coaches. Just look at Bruce Snyder for an example. I don't agree with Tedford or Pinkel either.
I reluctantly agree about Belotti although I felt he held the program back and was validated with my thinking when they took off immediately after he left.

Fair enough...the last three years are what dropped Snyder. But these guys were good enough to accomplish something quickly, whereas a Sark or Lambo hasnt done anything.

Snyder had only two years of more than 6 wins at ASU, while Sark has hit 7 wins three years in a row. If this doesn't prove house money, then you don't understand the meaning of incremental progress.

Doogs like to say James won 6,5,8,7 in first four yrs and Sark won 5,7,7,7 so we'd fire James.
