OLB is the only position besides DT where we just throw out offers to guys not in our natural pipeline. You think we’re gonna land that kid from fucking Kansas that we just offered? There’s basically a negative percent chance that happens.

Can we get back to if we have a shot at this kid? That tends to get lost between the sexual releases exchanged between people when they discuss a coach's ability to recruit in a thread about a player's recruitment

Gregory didn't do shit to reel in Kaho, by the way, that was Pete.

Lake's dalliances with leaving hurt us in recruiting this year.

Kwiatkowski hasn't landed one big fish since coming to UW.

Bonapha's record in recruiting is average. Paopao as well.

Malloe has landed one good player so far, but it looks like he's getting his shit together. However, this year will tell us a lot.

Hamdan has proven he can recruit. Same with Lubick. Huff looks promising.

Anyone who doesn't want Ws in crootin as bad as they do on the field doesn't understand what produces Ws on the field.

We have gotten murdered by every team with superior talent to us. Once we have superior talent, we will be actual natty contenders.

Agree with every word, except for maybe "murdered". "Exposed as inferior" is more accurate. Petersen teams don't get murdered, in general.

Kwiatkowski is a dud as a recruiter, at fucking best. But he is amazing as a DC. That is a trade worth making in a spot (or two, max) on the coaching staff. The same cannot be said of position coaches who can't get it done recruiting.

From what I understand Coach K is trying like a madman to join the Matt Lubick school of recruiting. Currently he’s our second most active recruiter on twitter behind Lubick. Hell, he even may be more active.

I don’t want K fired OBVIOUSLY. But we are probably going to need some edge guys to win Natties.

The good news is that I think K is trying like a maniac to improve. That alone tells you that Coker and I are right about his deficiencies and how important it is that he rectify them.

You think Coach K likes going into battle with fucking Ryan Bowman every week? For fuck’s sake.

The rest of this “Strausser is fine because we’re winning and Nick Harris is a good Pac 12 lineman for a freshman!” is just Doosier bullshit.

Amazing that through the coaching change his interest in A&M hasn't wavered at all. Either he's been contacted by a bag man or he got some bomb ass pussy on his A&M visit and is highly interested no matter who the coach is. We're fucked. Coach K fucking sucks. Shit the bed recruiting pass rushers again. Couldn't even beat out LA Tech for Maureese Wren.

One week we have a great class, the next it sucks. One week Bob Gregory needs to be fired, the next we reel in Kaho.

We can always improve. You guys are entertaining and I follow everything with UW football, but we aren’t fucked. We are good and will continue to be good. Recruiting has gradually gotten better.

There was a genuinely serious duscussion about whether we would be better off without Lake because he hadn’t closed on a few guys. Then he gets Gordon and he’s a God again.

I guess I can’t deal with the ups and downs of recuriting sometimes because it’s fucking stupid.

I get that it’s for fun, but Fuck, it's just not funny anymore. It's like revenge of the nerds around here. Goes to show 80% of you guys around here are fucking geeks. I like to complain about hyperbolic negativity on the boreds, then illustrate my complaints with ridiculous exagerations. It's what I like to do.

Nobody here has called for "six" coaches to be fired, not even fucking close. Nobody wanted Lake fired except Tequilla... he was wrong about that, as he is about most things.

And nobody has called for Kwat to be fired. What a lot of people have done, is called for some kind of set-up among the other assistants where Kwat gets help recruiting. Because it is a stone cold fact that he's failed at that part of his job. If you couldn't tell how fucked we were on the edge watching the Fiesta bowel, then I can't really help you... and there's no reason to think things will be any different next year.

None of that will change for me, or Franny, if Kwat signs Jeremiah Martin. Signing one guy doesn't suddenly erase years of severly subpar recruiting. Just like Malloe signing Tamaini doesn't magically erase the fact that he got cucked by Johnny Nansen with Marlon - to the point where Marlon's family was hiding out at a friend's house just to avoid him. And... that despite every conceivable advantage, he still couldn't close the deal with Togiai.

Bananas... You went after anyone who critisized Strausser, and were the leader of the 'but he's a GOOD coach movement'. You were dead wrong about that, and you're wrong about this. We can't keep allowing holes in our recruiting if we actually want to compete at the hightest level. The good thing is Pete seems to be figuring this out, even if you can't.

Also... If you still haven't wrapped your head out Dennis's schtick, and you're taking every one of his rants literally, then PM irishdoog, or go back to dawgman, or light yourself on fire, or abundance.
 
I think he's referring to a podcast in which DDY and Coker suggested we fire about half our staff (it was a dismal time for recruiting). I believe it was Malloe, Paopao, Gregory, Boner, and Jonathan Smith. Things have since changed of course

Yup, I was never really on board with the Boner side of it. He needs to prove it with a better 2019 class. For me I wanted to replace Smith (Obviously), Gregory with someone like Sirmon, Malloe with someone like Sirmon, and put Alexander as OLB coach. Paopao I really have no opinion on which kinda speaks for itself, but whatever.

Since that pod Malloe earned another year, next year has a very good DL class and he has good connections to a lot of the kids and is early on them too. I really want him to succeed.

So, TAMU had pulled this guy from Green Bay to Coach DLs for them, Jerry Montgomery who is a big time recruiter.

It looks like he's decided to go back to Green Bay. I'm not sure this will really affect things, but if Martin does actually visit on the last weekend, we could finish at least third!

Actually A&M has separate Defensive End and Defensive Tackle coaches, Montgomery was their D Tackle coach.

It looks like he's decided to go back to Green Bay. I'm not sure this will really affect things, but if Martin does actually visit on the last weekend, we could finish at least third!

Some of you really do read at a level that wouldn’t get you qualified to be a NCAA student athlete ... that and your personal biases get you to interpret what you read as reading it how you want to read it.
