I believe we did cool on Criddell to some extent, but not because of his athleticism. I think Criddell said he was talking to Coach Pete pretty much every day. Which is great, but also seems like he was pretty high maintenance. At some point Dollars convinces him that Oregon is the shit and that they should both go there. Criddell cancels his UW visit and doesn't reschedule, and visits Oregon twice. I'm guessing our coaches felt they had lost him and that all the recruiting time they are putting into him is just going to waste if he isn't going to come back to Seattle. So they offer Chase and start focusing more on other guys.

Perhaps those numbers suggest that Dollars/Criddell aren’t putting in that off season work. It’d be one thing if they usually tested in the 110 range and dropped to 105 or whatever. But to be mid 70s ... that’s the type of shit I’d expect out of a Sark recruit. Assuming they head to Oregontheg will fit in nicely there.

This has got to be 80% why Pete hates offering early. This time of year is when you really see which kids are still grinding to get better during the offseason, and which are attention whoring the recruiting process. Indicative of how hard they'll work in college. That said Pete needs to be realistic with weighing that work ethic against how raw and talented a given kid is.

See now that is sound reasoning and definitely what I can agree with. And if that is what HuskyClaws point was then yes, I can agree with him as well.

Granted I'm in a car pretending to be a part of a conversation while I'm actually on HH, but I took his post as saying that UW cooled on them because they aren't as athletic as was originally thought. To which my reaction is, fuck that shit, these two kids are premier athletes at their positions. Their tape is good, there is a reason they're ranked in the top 115 and 75 respectively. UW isn't fading on them because their scores are lumped in with OL and QB's.

Now if you're framing the conversation as:

"Hey Dollars is proving to be a huge diva and seems to love being recruited more than working, we may need to back off this kid."
"Oh shit he's also in Criddell's ear and he's starting to act the same way."

All the Tbsing I've done suggests that dollars and Criddell are worth the recruiting from a talent and performance measurables pov.

If they are being cooled on then I think it's more the love of being recruited and all that shit that makes Petersen move onto other targets at this time.

If recruits are buying into the flash and glitter of Oregon after a significant regime change then maybe these aren't the droids we're looking for.
