I dealt with Jen a lot when she was at Washington. First thing to know is she is incredibly bright. She learned a lot at Washington and fought some demons. She's a bright, articulate, charming, engaging lady who is also competitive as hell. She's appeared to put her demons behind her.

You're going to love Cohen. It will be interesting to see who she fills her staff with. Knowing the competitive nature of Jen, I'm sure she negotiated a large assistant salary pool. If she gets Tosh Lupoi on staff, watch out. Tosh is one of the best recruiters I've ever dealt with. He's currently with Oregon.

She's an outstanding recruiting and phenomenal working with DB's. She trusts her guys and has an edge. Guys love playing for her.

USC didn't hit a home run with Cohen. They hit a grand slam.

At this point I think the most you can say about Jen is that she was "competent." Not spectacular in any way(good or bad). No reason to think we can't find someone better.

I don't think Petersen is the guy. I don't really want a burnt out, wanna be philosopher with a stick up his ass who hates the direction that college football is moving in.

her own consulting business? Consulting for who? She's been in academia/Athletic Dept her entire career.

Yeah.... upper campus told Jen to make the worst football/basketball tandem hires in the history of the school.

Having to pay Jimmy's buyout and Hopkins extension wouldn't have anything to do with the AD finances would it?

Hired Lake when that would have been the hire no matter who the AD was. Hired DeBoer and most of you mocked it.

It’s a loss.

Upper campus needs to handle it this way:

Cauce: "Coach DeBoer, who would you like to see as our new Athletic Director?"

DeBoer: "You know my wife sold tickets, worked concessions and helped out with the softball team at Sioux Falls. Honestly, I think she'd do a heck of a job."

Cauce: "OK! Done!!
