I've been very clear in saying that I would not have given Fisch a material extension (see Nebraska and Rhule).
I would have made a nominal raise, would have added an extra 1-2 years onto the deal, and reset the terms for a school hiring him away.
I would have committed to additional money for his staff and roster/NIL.
I would have embraced his end goal of wanting to coach in the NFL and provided the resources for him to have the success here necessary for him to achieve that goal as that's in alignment with the goals of Washington being successful on the field.
I would have also had no issue with favorable terms for him departing for a NFL HC job.
