Jeb Bush, deserves own thread

Those situations aren't analogous at all. If you couldn't tell Obama was our next president early in 2007 you were just in denial. Jeb doesn't any of the same hype, charisma or demographic power that Obama did.

I do think Jeb has a shot in 2016, but it's nothing like the Obama situation.

Not one pundit thought Obama could beat the Clinton machine.

It is easy to look back now and say when the junior Senator from Illinois who had been in office for 2 years would coast to an easy win.

However, Hillary had been the front runner. It was the design of the primaries that allowed Obama to win.

You need to take a look at the way the GOP has structured the primaries to prevent the same drag on results we had in 2012.

REAGAN had the same problem in 76 and 80 overcoming the RINO money. Bush 1 had all the RINO money and the grass roots showed up and beat him. It WASN'T pretty.

Reagan was always the favorite of the conservative money and had been being groomed since the 60's.

After his near victory in 76 he was the front runner coming into 1980. Bush never polled well in the south, and once Reagan took out Connally, a Texan, he was well on his way.

Reagan was a well financed, well groomed candidate who was the odds on favorite starting in 1977.

It isn't about perceived competence as much as that Walker would be a great wedge to drive labor types to the polls.

Me thinks you missed the part how Walker single-handedly proved big labor doesn't have the power and clout they used to.
