Hyperbole. What's left of the GOP is beholden to Trump -- that's plain for anyone to see. A good proof of this is that with rare exceptions, the only Republicans that say anything opposed to him are those not running for relection. Massie sometimes differs from MAGA orthodoxy. One or two senators. That's it.

One who elects an idiotic, corrupt fascist and his crackpot friends, supports starting wars abroad although voted on a platform of no wars abroad, supports a fascist, domestic paramilitary force that shoots Americans while wearing no ID and face coverings. So, I didn't say the Democratic Party was without faults. All I said was that there was no longer a GOP; it was just MAGA lunacy left. The Dems are not a popular party either. But I don't think the lunatic left fringe is driving it (contrary to the idiotic characterizations of Trump). There is still a sort of center remaining. Listen for example to Adam Smith. There was a stronger border bill ready to be passed and signed by Biden, however Trump commanded his rubber stamp senators to hold back on it and not enforce a strong border for a year so he could run on the issue.
