James Woods leaves the Republican Party

I don’t have to worry about a UniParty GOP representing Montana. No chance to make it through the primary without strongly supporting Trump.

Steve Daines just announced he’s not running this Fall and already has the Trump-supporting replacement tanned, rested, and ready.

I don't remember anyone advancing an argument here that was NOT firmly a straw man or ad hominem. Once in a while Bob C posts something in the realm of coherence.

So, I didn't say the Democratic Party was without faults. All I said was that there was no longer a GOP; it was just MAGA lunacy left. The Dems are not a popular party either. But I don't think the lunatic left fringe is driving it (contrary to the idiotic characterizations of Trump). There is still a sort of center remaining. Listen for example to Adam Smith. There was a stronger border bill ready to be passed and signed by Biden, however Trump commanded his rubber stamp senators to hold back on it and not enforce a strong border for a year so he could run on the issue.

Reduced spending
Free Speech
Second amendment rights

The GOP ran ridiculous primaries in 2024 because they were hoping Trump would end up in prison because of Democrats lawfare.

The Dems fucked up so bad there that the Dems destroyed confidence in the legal system and still got Trump reelected. Lie repeatedly saying only Congress could close the border when everyone here knew he was lying, too, yet he continued to tell those lies even when c ok fronted with facts on how Biden reversed all off Trump’s (effective) border policies.
